Oddy the odd sock was fast asleep in his basket dreaming of fun adventures, when suddenly he woke up. ‘Today’s the day I hope to find my other sock!’
So off he went…out of the basket…out the laundry door, and found himself…
on a lovely farm.
Inside a barn, a Brown Hen sat on a nest. ‘Hello Mrs.Brown Hen, I’m Oddy and I can’t find my other sock, have you seen it?’
‘Cluck Cluck!’ she replied, ‘well no little Oddy, but let’s have a look around.’
They found eggs…baby chicks…and a long feather, but no sock.
Oddy thanked Mrs. Brown Hen and left the barn.
Inside a stable was a large Black Horse. Oddy was a little frightened because he was very tall. ‘Er…hello Mr. Black Horse,’ he said nervously, ‘I’m Oddy and I can’t find my other sock, have you seen it?’
‘Neigh, neigh, I’m afraid not Oddy,’ Mr. Black Horse replied kindly, ‘but let’s have a look around.’
They found hay…old horseshoes…and a new saddle, but no sock.
Oddy thanked Mr. Black Horse and left the stable.
Oddy then saw a Little White Lamb, chasing a butterfly in a nearby field. ‘Hello Little Lamb’ Oddy called out, ‘I’m Oddy and I can’t find my other sock, have you seen it?
‘Baa, baa, not today Oddy,’ the Little Lamb replied, ‘but let’s have a look around.’
They found buttercups…wild roses…and long green grass, but no sock.
Oddy stayed with Little Lamb and they played chasey and hide and seek all day long. He then thanked Little Lamb and left the field.
Oddy began to yawn and thought to himself, ‘Well I didn’t find my other sock today, but I did have fun on the farm with my new friends…I’ll try again tomorrow.’
So home he went…in through the laundry door…into his basket…and off to sleep.
While Oddy dreams of his fun adventure, can you find Oddy’s other sock?
