The sustainable path to success is carved by the blunt shovel of your failures.

Albert ‘Alby’ Jamae is the founder of The Umbrella Men Project and author of The Umbrella Men: Empowering Men Today to Ignite the Men of Tomorrow. Drawing from over four decades in entertainment and a deeply personal journey of transformation, he’s dedicating the next chapter of his life to champion to improve men's mental health and authentic masculinity.

His entertainment career spans hosting Channel Nine’s Here's Humphrey, performing in countless stage shows in dance, musical theatre, plays and children’s entertainment for Disney and Warner Bros. As an actor he’s appeared in several local films, television series and commercial work in radio, television and online. Directing and producing over 100 theatrical productions, along with a few short films, he’s created award-winning short plays and documentaries, including three First Nations projects for NITV/SBS. As head of production at Channel 44 community television, and long time performance coach, he’s mentored hundreds of youths, emerging creators while championing underrepresented voices.

Alby’s transformation from lifelong people-pleaser to men’s advocate began after his mother’s death, when he confronted decades of suppressed emotions and the "shrinking man" syndrome he’d witnessed in himself and countless others. This led to writing Death by Doormat: A Mini Guide for People Pleasers and developing The Umbrella Men Project - a movement addressing the silent crisis of modern masculinity.

His approach combines raw vulnerability with practical solutions, helping men navigate relationship challenges, career dissatisfaction, social isolation, and the pressure to maintain outdated masculine stereotypes. His speaking draws from his own struggles with self-doubt, people-pleasing, and finding authentic purpose in midlife. His work creates safe spaces for men to explore vulnerability as strength, build meaningful connections, and become the role models the next generation desperately needs.
