Empowering Men Today to Ignite the Men of Tomorrow
The sole purpose of creating this platform (along with other media) is to provide some extra resources for men to tap into in helping guide their personal development.
The fears and anxieties we face as men take up way too much bandwidth. Tackling them head on frees up energy, evokes passion and sharpens focus to get the most out of our lives. The formula for men to contribute to the world with our masculinity intact requires the strength, resilience and positive assertions we’ve inherited, mixed with accountability and compassion.
The Umbrella Men Project’s aim is to encourage men to see their untapped potential. Telling men to simply ‘do better’ sounds like they’re being punished. Inviting them to ‘do better so they can feel better’ creates a sustainable reward system. Above all, it helps us define our own version of healthy masculinity which we can pass along to those emerging men to follow.
And I’m likely to poke fun at us men in all our quirks!
Being a Dad - one of the biggest joys of my life and also challenging. This video is a shout out to all the dads out there to get their take on fatherhood - and of course a few dad jokes thrown in to bring it home!
People pleasing isn’t for all men, but there’s enough around that I know who are still stuck in this roundabout. I was one of them for fifty years! This is my take on identifying specific traits and how to reframe them so it becomes less of a grip hold on your daily life.

STICK - my very first short film shot back in 2001! Even back then I was dabbling in having a dig at how us blokes behave like cavemen, often to our own detriment. This story highlights the lengths we’ll go out of pride and ego, only to have it bite us in the arse!
THE HUDDLE - I was challenged to write some short web series around 1 minute long so I drafted up these 5 around a country football club. An homage to my old days - but with a modern twist. These players are trying perhaps a little too hard to be sensitive or even politically correct guys! NB: there was a 6th, but as time changes, some things won’t make the cut anymore.
